Software Systems Validation Team

Our Validation team guarantees that every line of flight software powering our autonomous aircraft is safe, reliable and specification-compliant. We test at system level—navigation, perception, planning, controls and actuation—working closely with Embedded Software, Autonomy, Systems Engineering, Test-Infrastructure and Data Platform.

Your Role

• Design and run test scenarios to validate system-level requirements
• Build and improve validation tools, workflows and automation
• Create dashboards, visualizations and metrics that expose performance trends
• Execute validation pipelines together with Test-Infrastructure & Data Platform
• Analyze results, perform root-cause analysis and document findings

What You Bring

• Currently enrolled in B.S. or M.S. in CS, Software Engineering, Aerospace, Robotics or related field
• Hands-on project experience in robotics, controls, estimation, navigation, perception or software development
• Familiarity with testing, debugging or validation (coursework or projects)
• Data analysis skills in Python, SQL or equivalent
• Basic proficiency in compiled languages such as C/C++ or Rust
• Curiosity, strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn

Nice to Have

• Exposure to hardware, sensors, actuators and software/hardware interfaces
• Participation in robotics competitions, clubs or research labs
• Interest in requirements development, reliability or statistical validation

Location & Duration

Full-time, in-person internship in South San Francisco or Dallas. Program runs May/June – August 2026.

Compensation

Starting pay $40–44/hr plus housing stipend, overtime, relocation support and more.
