About You and The Role   As a Software Automation Engineer in the Hardware in the Loop team you will be responsible for developing key infrastructure to support automated testing of our critical flight and ground software. This will involve a mix of driver development for both embedded and linux-based systems, extensive architecture design, and heavily multi-disciplinary test planning. Throughout you will develop a strong understanding of our full vehicle system and work closely with cross functional partners who will regularly use your work to deliver a more reliable flight software solution. Most importantly, all of this work you will take on will be the last line of defense before our software is shipped all over the world to perform vital deliveries. Do you have what it takes? What You'll Do   Develop drivers and test software to enable automated coverage of our releases Support test framework architecture designs and improvements Create system-level validation plans from unit testing all the way to flight Review other team-members code, holding a high bar for coverage Debug test failures both at the software and hardware level Mentor more junior engineers on the team, leading by example in your own work Collaborate with cross-functional partners to make sure you are always unblocked What You'll Bring  5+ years of experience developing automation software for safety-critical hardware-based systems Extensive experience in Python, specifically using test systems (e.g. pytest) Some experience testing Rust, C++, and C Extensive experience working with CI/CD system Experience working with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and hardware instruments Experience developing and executing test plans for software What Else You Need to Know    The starting cash range for this role is $130,000 - 165,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
