How to contribute to our vision

We are looking for certified electricians with experience in high voltage from other industries, that are interested in joining the offshore wind industry, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) will develop candidates into specialists for wind turbine installation and commissioning, experience as Authorized Person or Senior Authorized Person desired.

The High Voltage Technicians and Authorized Persons are dedicated and responsible for the high voltage installation, commissioning, and energization of wind turbine projects in line with safety guidelines, project requirements, corporate methods, and industry legislative standards. This role home country will be Poland, and you will be deployed to projects Worldwide Europe, United States and Asia-Pacific (EU, US, and APAC) as per the business requirements. You will follow a shift pattern therefore a flexible approach to travel and working away from home on a continuing basis is essential.

The role will provide you with lots of variety, learning and development opportunities along with an exceptional team culture. The role is a global role, work can be in APAC, US, EU, and flexibility is required.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • To implement, instruct, train, and ensure safety cultures and behaviors within the role and your team.
  • Working across all project execution environments including preassembly, installation and commissioning, your responsibilities will include HV (High Voltage) cable, terminations, testing commissioning of associated HV equipment and energization of wind turbines.
  • Following a period of further training and evaluation you will also implement HV switching procedures, keeping, and maintaining accurate records and documentation of all work activities undertaken according to company policy is essential.
  • The role demands a high level of focus and attention to always detail.
  • Ability to consistently deliver the quality product that our customers rightly demand.
  • This role is also responsible for training, mentoring, and sharing knowledge with trainees and colleagues alike.

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for:

  • Candidates must be electrically skilled and preferably with the appropriate electrical industry training, education, and qualifications.
  • We ideally would like you to have two years of relevant experience with High Voltage but are very open to speak with you if you are at the beginning of your career.
  • Fluency in the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Wind experience is preferable but not required.   
  • High voltage systems experience (not necessarily from the wind industry).
  • A background in the renewable energy industry is desirable, but not essential for a candidate with the relevant electrical background.
  • A high level of health and safety focus with experience of working with safe systems of work.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative and have the ability and confidence to work at height.
  • You will be comfortable and experienced working in adverse weather conditions.
  • You will be a strong communicator with proven ability to successfully interact at various levels in an organization and where necessary considering the different cultures.
  • You will also have a high level of IT literacy.
