Associate Product Manager

Octopus Energy started with a bold idea: build Britain’s first truly digital energy supplier. By combining world-class tech with a team that cares about customers and the renewable transition, we became the UK’s largest energy supplier in 2025.

We are now building the next generation of products to accelerate the green energy transition—smart tariffs, heat-pump, solar and EV solutions, and large-scale renewable generation. Globally, we are taking these learnings to new markets, including Japan, the world’s largest liberalised energy market.

For our lean and rapidly growing Tokyo team we are looking for an Associate Product Manager who will help us build scalable, highly resilient platforms and advance the clean-energy agenda.

Your responsibilities

• Partner with business teams to deliver on our mission of “better energy”
• Refine development tickets, turn ideas into reality and drive innovative energy solutions
• Work closely with engineering, design and operations to launch quickly, gather feedback and iterate at pace
• Define KPIs, analyse performance data and convert insights into measurable improvements

• Backend: Python, AWS, GraphQL/REST APIs
• Frontend/Mobile: TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift

What you bring

• Experience in customer or operational support with the desire to move into product management
• Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills
• Business-level English and conversational Japanese (min. N3)
• Ability to translate ambiguity into clear requirements
• Solid prioritisation skills and a love for fast iteration

Nice to have: start-up or energy-industry experience.
