Commissioning Engineer for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) - Converter Control

Your Day at a Glance

In our HVDC Control team we design, implement and verify hardware and software for innovative HVDC applications using lean, agile methods. Our diverse, multinational teams cooperate closely with project management, system and equipment engineering as well as with end customers to deliver customized solutions based on state-of-the-art HVDC technology.

How You Make an Impact

  • Technically flawless, on-time and cost-efficient commissioning of HVDC systems at construction sites worldwide
  • Integration and functional testing of control & protection (C&P) systems at our German test facilities
  • Preparation and execution of test procedures and programmes for converter control, including verification documentation
  • Planning, execution and evaluation of factory acceptance tests at sub-suppliers
  • Integration and functional testing of HVDC control technology (C&P hardware and software) in our test centre
  • Support of commissioning management in quality, risk and claim management
  • Participation in improvement programmes (e.g. Lean, reviews, lessons learned)

What You Bring

  • Degree in electrical or energy engineering, or comparable qualification
  • Knowledge of testing with MATLAB/Simulink or similar, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7
  • Advantage: experience with HVDC/HVAC systems (control, regulation, measurement, protection and communication)
  • English skills; additional languages welcome
  • Willingness for medium-term assignments at construction sites in Germany and abroad, and optionally on offshore platforms
