Role & Responsibility
As Head of Manufacturing Quality you will define and drive Zipline’s global quality strategy. You will lead the Quality organisation (Quality Engineers & Technicians) and own the full quality lifecycle of every product—aircraft, droid, dock—from incoming inspection (IQC) and end-of-line test (EOL) to outgoing quality control (OQC). Your mission: maximum reliability, safety and performance without slowing innovation.

Core Tasks

• Build & lead Quality teams; scale quality processes from prototype to volume (100→1,000+ units/week)
• Define KPIs (First-Pass-Yield, COPQ, field escapes); use data to drive continuous improvement
• Drive PFMEAs, control plans and CAPA; partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain and Design on Design-for-Quality
• Ensure and evolve maturity of the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Deliver complex quality & reliability projects to aggressive schedules

Qualifications

• 10+ years in manufacturing quality, reliability or production; 3+ years leading teams
• Proven scale-up of complex electro-mechanical systems (robotics, automotive, aviation) from low to high volume
• Expertise in PFMEA, control plans, CAPA, FPY improvement and deployment of automated inspection
• Analytical, data-driven mindset; MES/ERP/PLM experience a plus
• Hands-on problem-solver comfortable in fast-moving environments
