Senior Functional Lead - Safety Software

As Senior Functional Lead you hold full technical ownership of the wind turbine safety software module. You define the strategic roadmap, architectural guidelines and quality standards, ensuring compliance with safety standards (ISO 13849-1, IEC 61508). You lead international development teams in Porto and Aarhus and drive the modularisation of safety software forward.

Responsibilities

• Advance and maintain safety-compliant software processes
• Own strategy, architecture and quality for the safety software module
• Monitor markets and technologies to keep solutions competitive
• Manage requirements and design decisions for new features
• Strategic IP management (patents, freedom-to-operate)
• Align the technical roadmap with Vestas’ global modularisation strategy

Qualifications

• Min. 10 years’ experience, incl. ≥5 years in safety software and technical leadership
• Experience with agile software development
• Demonstrated success in technical leadership roles
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• High learning aptitude regarding wind-energy specifics and continuous improvement
