Smart Meter Engineer (Scotland)

Join us in driving the global renewable energy revolution. We’re hiring qualified smart-meter engineers across Scotland who bring a strong safety record and outstanding customer service to every home visit.

Your responsibilities

• Install electricity and gas smart meters and in-home displays
• Show customers how to use their new equipment and save energy
• Explain Octopus Energy’s green tariffs and answer questions about the energy transition
• Deliver first-class service that reflects our brand values

You’ll be supported by a dedicated office team and our industry-leading technology, keeping admin low and customer time high. Regular upskilling opportunities into EV charge points and heat pumps are part of the package.

What you’ll need

• MOCoPA certificate (within the last 3 years)
• Gas Safe: CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points

Overtime & call-out

• One-in-five-week call-out rota (£250 weekly retainer, door-to-door pay when called)
• Saturday work: £50 attendance + £70 dual-fuel extra or £35 single-fuel extra
• Technical aborts paid at half rate
