About the Role
The Ground Systems team creates the hardware that launches, lands, charges and reloads our fleet. We need an Electrical Engineer with solid EE fundamentals and a track record of bringing electronics from concept to high-volume production. You will own designs in at least one of these areas: microprocessors, high-speed communication, GNSS, brushless DC motor drives, power supplies, battery chargers.

Your boards will enable fully autonomous take-off and landing and scale our impact from 100 thousand to 100 million deliveries. You will collaborate daily with world-class engineers across disciplines and receive strong mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Full life-cycle ownership: requirements, schematic, layout, prototyping, validation, production ramp
• Drive architecture trades, risk burn-down and design decisions
• Cross-functional collaboration with reliability, mechanical, embedded and systems teams
• Support concept, design, validation, DFM, certification, manufacturing and field deployment
• Occasional travel to suppliers and launch sites

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related
• 3+ years hardware design: circuits, schematics, PCB layout, integration, validation, production hand-off
• Experience with safety-critical products (energy, transportation, medical)
• Design expertise in mixed-signal, high-speed digital, microprocessors, Ethernet, power electronics, motor drives
• Proficiency with Altium, SPICE, lab equipment
• Familiarity with UL safety and EMC compliance preferred
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

Starting cash range: $160,000 – $225,000 per year plus equity, bonus and full benefits. Zipline is an equal-opportunity employer.
