Thermal Spray Welder – Tooling Repair 50R

A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

You will weld and repair thermal-spray tooling, keep torch and hopper pools in optimal condition, manage tooling cycles and operate various equipment in the Thermal Spray Department with minimal supervision.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

• Perform welding repairs on thermal spray tooling
• Assemble thermal spray tooling
• Maintain tooling pools for thermal spray, grit blast and shot peen operations in optimum condition
• Keep torch and hopper pools in best operational state
• Use quality documentation (travelers, forms, records)
• Set up and operate welding stations and machines
• Prepare and polish areas to be welded
• Belt sand and finish tooling; remove excess weld and blast residue

What You Bring (requirements)

• High-school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, complete simple forms and understand basic written instructions
• Math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules or diagrams
• Min. 2 years TIG (GTAW) welding experience or completed certified welding course
• Demonstrated proficiency in one of: TIG, MIG/MAG, SMAW or GMAW
• Able to set up and operate relevant welding equipment independently
• Physical demand: moderate. Working conditions: possible contact with coating materials, fumes and chemicals; standard welding environment

Certifications

Completed certified welding curriculum or min. 2 years equivalent TIG welding experience
