Electrical Project Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

About the Deployment & Construction Team We turn empty ground into world-class drone-charging sites – on time, on budget and to NEC standards. The cross-functional team unites civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and construction engineering expertise. Your Role - Design and document commercial & light-industrial power distribution and wiring per NEC - Coordinate utilities, create load schedules and technical drawings - Prepare UL/TUV certification packages and liaise with external test labs - Support construction managers in the field; document project risks - Continuously optimize designs to cut build time and cost - Evaluate and select vendors for quality, reliability and budget -Regular travel to test sites across California and other U.S. states Requirements - 3rd- or 4th-year bachelor student in Electrical Engineering with coursework in power systems or building services -Solid understanding of NEC or equivalent codes; first CAD/ECAD experience (AutoCAD, EPLAN, REVIT, etc.) -Hands-on mindset, attention to detail, strong desire to learn -Clear written and verbal communication skills in English -Willingness to travel and work in the field Internship facts - Full-time, in-person in South San Francisco or Dallas; fixed term May/June–August 2026 -Starting cash pay 38–42 USD/h (≈ USD 6,600–7,300 gross/month) plus housing stipend, relocation support, overtime and additional benefits -Limit of three applications within any 30-day window Zipline is an equal-opportunity employer.
