Maintenance Mechanical Technician – Large Power Transformers

About the role

Your Day

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician you ensure maximum plant availability by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery. You troubleshoot pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and conveyors using specialist tools and technical documentation.

You work with cross-functional teams to solve urgent failures, support installations and upgrades and maintain data in SAP and COMOS. Safety, reliability and continuous improvement are paramount.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Fault diagnosis on pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and conveyor technology to minimise downtime
  • Drive continuous improvement through Genba walks, KPI analysis and a zero-breakdown mindset
  • Maintain technical documentation, drawings and maintenance logs
  • Component life-cycle analysis for demand-based replacement planning
  • Comply with safety regulations and mechanical handling procedures

What We Expect You to Bring

  • Minimum 5 years mechanical maintenance experience; degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent technical qualification
  • Sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems plus ability to read technical drawings
  • Structured, disciplined approach and strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork with production, maintenance and suppliers
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office, internet tools)
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP PM, COMOS) advantageous
