Wind Turbine Technician, Electrician

ENERCON – a global leader in wind-turbine design and manufacturing – is expanding its Canadian service team and is recruiting full-time Wind Turbine Technicians with electrical background for our site in Cypress County, Alberta.

Your responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspection and fault resolution on ENERCON wind turbines
• Diagnose electro-mechanical faults and carry out repairs and retrofits safely
• Record all work digitally via tablet/smartphone
• Support preventive-maintenance programmes and continuous improvement of safety standards
• Participate in training on occupational safety, maintenance techniques and new work methods
• Inspect and maintain company vehicles
• Willingness to travel for several days to support other Canadian wind farms

Your profile:

• Completed technical training as electrician, electro-mechanic or comparable trade
• Professional experience in electro-mechanical maintenance advantageous
• Canadian “Red Seal” electrical certification an asset
• Basic MS Office and digital-documentation skills
• Class 5 driver’s licence (Alberta) or valid foreign licence eligible for exchange
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, on-call and to travel occasionally

Your skills:

• Safe working at height and in confined spaces
• Knowledge of first aid and height rescue
• Ability to read and apply electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics
• Experience with medium-voltage switchgear and transformers
• Strict adherence to PPE and safety regulations
