Apply now!We are searching for a Head of Offshore Technicians in UK at Siemens Gamesa, who will be responsible for performance and disciplinary management, recruitment, personal and technical development of our site technicians in the UK and Romania. The team consists of close to 200 technicians and nine office staff based in Hull. Who will be leading leaders.You will be part of an international team of more than 1.000 Offshore colleagues globally. As part of this you coordinate, structure and develop the organization together with the four other technician hub managers.This role is based out of Hull in the UK and presence in Hull is required.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for the development of all completion technicians globally as well as all related completion processes and KPIs

  • Lead and develop the UK and Romanian departments, including your team leaders (leading leaders)

  • Coordinate globally with other hubs to ensure sufficient competent technicians are available to execute on offshore construction projects globally

  • Manage and develop the local hub including T&Cs, union negotiations, adhering to UK law, ensuring personal protective equipment and work clothes processes and certification, budget compliance etc.

  • Ensure that safety standards are maintained within the team and that the technicians meet the necessary project and SGRE requirements (e.g., offshore training, certificates) before each assignment

  • Regularly visit offshore construction sites to engage with technicians at their place of work

What You Need To Make a Difference

A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

  • Leadership experience is very important. Prior experience with leading leaders is an advantage for this position

  • Experience in working across cultures

  • Experience with technical project management

  • Is solution oriented and can develop creative solutions

  • For this position a bright and solution-oriented mind is more important than formal education, but a university degree in business management or leadership is an advantage

  • Travelling is up to 20%
