Our Sales Managers play a key role in obtaining and finalizing some of the most innovative onshore wind projects. Responsibilities

The Sales Manager will report to the Head of Sales of MED East, but considering the team's growth and size, reporting might change in the future to Sales Director. 

Responsibilities will include

  • Developing sales approaches and designing plans for additional sales goals and targets, thereby contributing towards the long-term growth of the organisation, possessing product knowledge with the ability to effectively market the product to customers, negotiate terms and close deals
  • Screen and evaluate sales opportunities
  • Manage the entire sales cycle: from identifying potential customers, quoting and optimizing deals to negotiating and concluding contracts for the delivery of wind energy projects
  • Ensure effective interdisciplinary collaboration in a matrix organization. Coordinate and specify technical, financial, pricing, legal, construction and service solutions for the customers, in close cooperation with other Vestas departments
  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders (existing and potential customers, authorities, utilities)
  • Monitor market development
  • Provide a day-to-day interaction between Vestas and the targeted customers
  • Setting sales and commercial goals and providing input to the internal stakeholders involved in selling
  • Generating new opportunities and leads based on customer, competitor or market understanding
  • Formulating a sales management strategy to fulfill those goals
  • Face the customers jointly with the deal team throughout the entire sales process
  • Manage the commercial TSA negotiations
  • Reviewing tender material
  • Develop bid, negotiation and commercial strategies
  • Ensuring structure within the bid and negotiation phase
  • Reporting progress to the management team
  • First point of contact for commercial issues and responsible for internal escalation
  • Managing the customer relationship and facing the customers together with the Service team, the Senior Technical Sales Manager throughout the sales process
  • Align commercial requirements and risk assessment with the Service team and other internal stakeholders
  • Lead a cross-functional team from different departments working on a project
  • Compliance with internal processes and guidelines
  • Involved in planning and focusing on increasing sales volume, contributing to company profits and long term growth of the organization
  • Be responsible for people management

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration, coupled with at least 5 years of professional and project management experience within the wind energy, EPCI oil and gas, power plants, infrastructure, or the construction industry. A master's degree would be preferred
  • Experience with being involved on the commercial side in negotiations of large complex projects and is able to articulate the consequences from a commercial and contractual point of view
  • High understanding of the commercial aspects of complex products and the ability to translate this knowledge into a contractual context
  • Experience with long-term sales processes and delivering results in a complex organization selling large-scale projects
  • Proficiency in Business English, another Southern European or Russian language

  • High degree of endurance and persistence to withstand long-cycle hard-core customer negotiations
  • High degree of structure and project management skills
  • Insightful in cultural awareness and sensitivity
