The digitalization team at Northvolt is looking for candidates that get excited about the idea of making a factory smart using a cutting-edge technology stack.

What does it mean? You will be responsible for preparation of dashboards and data models utilizing a variety of data types from numerous sources, such as process data, supply chain data, and IoT data. Outcome of your work will be supporting a data-driven decision-making, aiming to enhance production processes and overall manufacturing efficiency.

Do you have an example of what I would do? You will develop a data model to assess the efficiency of material delivery times and warehouse response rates, with the goal of optimizing the daily utilization and occupancy of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). This task involves gathering and integrating data from the production process and fleet management systems. You will analyze this data in comparison with factory simulation outcomes to uncover performance discrepancies and improvement opportunities. Additionally, you will prepare a series of dashboards that the operations team will use for ongoing monitoring purposes. These dashboards will provide real-time insights into material delivery efficiencies, AMR performance, and warehouse responsiveness, enabling the team to make informed decisions and adjustments to enhance operational flow and efficiency in real-time. Working on this, you are more than likely to talk with people from various backgrounds and nationalities as we are currently people from more than 70 nations working at Northvolt.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you:

• Have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field,
• Will bring at least 2 years of hands-on experience in data analysis or a similar role,
• Have proficient in statistical analysis, data visualization, and data manipulation techniques,
• Are familiar with data visualization tools like Looker, Power BI, or similar.

Extra awesome but not required:

• Have experience working with a cloud provider such as AWS or GCP,
• Have programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or similar,
• Have experienced in using SQL for data querying and manipulation.

About the company

Northvolt is a European supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems. Founded in 2016 to enable the European transition to a decarbonized future, Northvolt has made swift progress on its mission to deliver the world’s greenest lithium-ion battery with a minimal CO2 footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling. Northvolt Ett is a next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, the gigafactory will be one of the largest battery cell factory in Europe and produce at least 32 GWh of capacity annually.

Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
