How to contribute to our vision 

As the leading OEM in offshore wind, Siemens Gamesa has a large and dynamic portfolio of offshore wind projects spanning multiple countries and continents, supported by an extensive global supply chain.

To support us in ensuring world class project delivery across this portfolio, we are seeking a new Head of Portfolio, Risk and Optimization for our offshore project delivery business. The successful candidate will sit within our offshore Project Management (PM) organization and lead a diverse and engaged team of professionals.

Our world is increasingly dynamic with shifting project timelines; complex interdependencies between projects; diverse and extensive supply chains; and turbine components that grow ever larger and more complex to transport, lift and store. Successfully overcoming these and other challenges requires exemplary risk and portfolio management.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong track record in active risk management, strategic planning and portfolio management. They shall be an exceptional and proven leader with years of experience managing international teams of specialists. They shall have exceptional analytical and communications skills, a good understanding of the offshore wind market, a strong industry network, be structured in their approach and a strong team player. A robust understanding of, and experience in, all aspects of project delivery is also preferable.

As our Head of Portfolio, Risk and Optimization you will:

  • Lead a dynamic international team of professionals providing leading, strategic guidance in risk and opportunity management, planning and portfolio optimization.  
  • Ensure best in class active risk management across our offshore projects with accountability for our risk and opportunity process framework and deliveries, including the development of our project teams' knowledge and monitoring adherence to defined project risk management standards.
  • Drive and promote active risk management methodologies and principles across our organization.
  • Drive special internal projects and activities of various nature in support of our portfolio of offshore projects.
  • Provide expert analysis and advise on the optimization of project schedules and execution strategy driving the identified and implementation of portfolio optimization potential.
  • Analyze, forecast and prioritize critical resources for the offshore project portfolio to optimize execution, guiding the business accordingly. Provide transparency and decision support by providing timely and trusted predictions towards upper management.
  • Close collaboration with our Quality organization to drive active learning and the implementation of preventative and corrective actions to non-conformances.
  • Ensure effective transfer of risk knowledge between functions, including between sales and project execution phase and responsible for connecting portfolio and line functions and wider enterprise risk elements impacting projects.
  • Collect, analyze and share lessons learned and NCC findings for learnings from broader portfolio.
  • Standardize relevant project related governance processes and facilitates the sharing of resources, methodologies, tools and techniques.
  • Administer and ensure adherence to PM policies, guidelines, programs and standards relevant to the scope.
  • Actively drive the assessment of portfolio topics (plans, budgets, resources, operation status) and associated reporting.
  • Facilitate key management meeting in support of effective governance and portfolio management.
  • Effective cooperation with stakeholders.
  • Execute and report on progress of relevant improvement programs.
  • Maintain best practice process & standards for project execution within given PM Framework and support the drive for Digital transformation.
  • Foster an exceptional team spirit will driving development and ensuring the teams’ performance meets all agreed performance goals.

It is a big advantage if you thrive in a multi-cultural environment and are familiar with working in large organizations. It is therefore important that you have excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
