Job Description

<p>Located in either Berlin or Stuttgart,&#xa0;we're&#xa0;scaling up our tech team to enhance the brain of the&#xa0;Enpal&#xa0;system - our IoT division. We work closely with partner companies to create seamless energy solutions for the future.&#xa0;</p><p>As&#xa0;<strong>Senior&#xa0;Embedded Software Engineer (f/m/x)</strong>,&#xa0;you will be&#xa0;working&#xa0;close&#xa0;to&#xa0;hardware, production systems, and&#xa0;real operational&#xa0;challenges. The position plays a key&#xa0;part&#xa0;in building,&#xa0;validating, and operating systems that must perform reliably in the field. It combines deep technical&#xa0;expertise&#xa0;with hands-on technical leadership in production-grade IoT environments. If you value ownership, technical depth, and transparent collaboration, you will have the opportunity to shape both systems and processes in a meaningful way.&#xa0;</p><ul><li><p><strong>Design,&#xa0;validate, and&#xa0;optimize&#xa0;firmware</strong>&#xa0;for&#xa0;Linux-based&#xa0;IoT devices.&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Support our colleagues</strong>&#xa0;in building and&#xa0;maintaining&#xa0;software services essential for IoT device configuration and activation in production environments.&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Interface with partner companies</strong>&#xa0;to&#xa0;validate&#xa0;externally delivered software&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Establish and&#xa0;maintain&#xa0;automated validation pipelines</strong> (HIL/SIL testing)&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Enhance and&#xa0;maintain&#xa0;Linux system</strong> built with the&#xa0;<strong>yocto&#xa0;build chain</strong>&#xa0;&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Contribute to CI/CD pipelines</strong> <strong>and release processes </strong>using Git-based workflows&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Improve system-level reliability</strong> (network interfaces,&#xa0;systemd, boot flows, toolchains)&#xa0;</p></li></ul>

Qualifications

<ul><li><p><strong>In-depth understanding of&#xa0;Linux-based systems</strong>, with a strong emphasis on the&#xa0;<strong>Yocto&#xa0;build chain</strong>.&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Experience </strong>in <strong>designing and operating control systems in IoT production environments</strong>&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Platform or internal tooling</strong> development experience&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Experience </strong>with&#xa0;atleast&#xa0;one of: <strong>C++ / C# / Python</strong>&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Understanding of IoT Protocols</strong> (e.g., MQTT), <strong>interfaces </strong>such as <strong>Modbus, LTE</strong>&#xa0;</p></li><li><p><strong>Extensive experience in a&#xa0;production environment</strong>, with a focus on IoT device configuration and activation.&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong>Expertise&#xa0;in&#xa0;CI/CD</strong> tools and methodologies.&#xa0;<br><br>&#xa0;</p></li></ul><p><strong>Nice to have:</strong>&#xa0;&#xa0;</p><ul><li><p>Knowledge of&#xa0;embedded security&#xa0;best practices, both hardware and software-sided,&#xa0;&#xa0;</p></li><li><p>Hardware design exposure (schematics, interface integration)&#xa0;</p></li><li><p>Energy domain experience&#xa0;</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Willingness to deepen&#xa0;expertise&#xa0;in C#&#xa0;</p></li></ul>
