Senior Project Planner

Vestas have released a new role and are looking for an experienced Project Planner to work with our team on the largest wind farm project currently in the Southern Hemisphere.

As the successful candidate you will be joining a highly motivated and collaborative project team with extensive knowledge in EPC project management.

In this position you will work with colleagues in the PMO team in our Melbourne office along with the site project team on a daily basis. Having a good communication style with be a great advantage to ensure you can ascertain the best data to conduct the planning efficiently. You will lean on your extensive scheduling experience to create clear and concise plans, including alternative plans and potential forecasts to align with an ever changing construction environment.

The Project Management Office (PMO) operates across APAC and provides support during Wind Farm Construction. The PMO manages Cost Control, Scheduling/Planning, Documentation, Process, Risk Management, Lessons Learned and Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of Sales Schedules During Tender Phase and Reviewing Sub-Contractors 
  • Maintaining the Master Construction EPC Schedules during Construction Phase
  • Update Project Schedules Monthly/Weekly
  • Support Contract Department On EOT's
  • Support Project Managers Reporting To Client
  • Create What-If Scenarios
  • Use internal reporting tools
  • Reporting To Senior Management
  • Manage / Report on the Critical Path
  • Meet Contractual Obligations

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in EPC construction project planning using Primavera P6
  • Trade or Tertiary Qualifications with 5 years minimum renewable /construction experience (not essential )
  • Knowledge in PMI-SP (highly regarded but not essential)

Competencies

  • Experience in Master Schedule management
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge in Primavera P6 - Required
  • Experience in Microsoft Projects - Optional
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite - Required
  • Excellent usage of Critical Path Method
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Good stakeholder management
  • Good understanding in Delay Analysis
  • Knowledge in Earn Value Management (EVM) - Principles
  • Experience in S-Curve Reporting
