Commissioning Engineer for High-Voltage Direct Current – Converter Control

Your Day in a Nutshell

Join our HVDC team to design, implement and verify cutting-edge hardware and software for control and protection systems. Operating in a multinational environment, you will work closely with project management, engineering and end customers to deliver bespoke solutions that power the energy transition. Tasks range from testing in our Nuremberg labs to on-site commissioning, always meeting the highest quality standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of HVDC plants across Europe and worldwide
• Perform integration and functional tests on control & protection systems
• Prepare and execute test programmes for converter control incl. comprehensive documentation
• Drive quality, risk and claim management and continuous improvement (Lean, Reviews, Lessons Learned)

Your Profile

• Degree in electrical / energy engineering or comparable qualification
• Proven experience in commissioning industrial plants
• Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, Siemens SIMATIC, power electronics, high-voltage systems or automation technology
• Fluent English; additional languages advantageous
• Ready for 80 % travel and long-term assignments at construction sites in Europe and abroad, optional offshore work
• Communicative team-player with initiative and confident decision-making
