Job Description

Do you want to use your skills and experiences in communications to support the establishing of a gigafactory, shape the future of a city, and drive the electrification of an entire continent? 

We are looking for a talented Communications Manager who wants to take responsibility for our external and internal communications at Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå – Europe’s first homegrown gigafactory for lithium-ion battery cells, an industrial landmark that is accelerating our society’s transition towards electrification and renewable energy.

About the job 

As Communications Manager you report to the CEO at Ett, and you play a key role in supporting the local management team. You will work in a close partnership with the Communications Associate in Skellefteå who reports to you. Your team is supported operationally by the central communications team in Stockholm and the Director of Communications and Public Affairs Nordics.

Northvolt Ett is growing, fast. To support the organisation’s growth, we need a Communications Manager who can come up with creative solutions to complex problems, and drive them from idea to implementation. You will play a key role in driving the communications activities at Northvolt Ett and establishing processes to support 4,000+ co-workers in the coming years.

Your daily tasks will be hands-on and operational, but you are also responsible for providing local communication strategy and planning. Your responsibilities range from media relations to internal campaigns and organizing visits from key stakeholders. Your team is also responsible for the internal company channels, and the production of engaging content for internal use.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • External and internal communications at Northvolt Ett
  • Communications support to local management team and other managers
  • Media relations and crisis communication
  • Acting as a spokesperson
  • Set goals and track internal communication KPI's

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or equivalent in years of experience 
  • 3-4 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in managing media relations and crisis communication
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English
  • Native Swedish skills
