Maintenance Technician (Contractor)

Your responsibilities

• Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of unmanned aircraft per Zipline CAMP and FAA regulations
• Ensure airworthiness, safety, and full documentation compliance
• Work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other teams with minimal supervision
• Precision assembly and mechanical/electrical integration using hand tools
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and travel 5–10% of the time

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software systems
• Experience in component assembly and integration
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
• Compliance with FAA rules and eligibility for FAA Repairman Certificate
• This is a safety-sensitive role; pre-employment and random drug & alcohol testing apply
• 80%+ travel during the first 3 months for off-site training
• 6-month contract with potential for full-time conversion

Preferred

• Prior aircraft maintenance or similar technician experience
• Familiarity with sUAS operation manuals and training materials
• Strong customer-service mindset and clear communication skills
