Purchase & Logistics

The SSC Procurement Department is comprised of multiple work streams within Procurement such as the Indirect Buying, Purchasing, Supply & Market Analytics, and Digitalization & Processes. This role is under the Purchasing & SQD team which collaborates closely with the Global and Regional Procurement organizations on purchasing activities (i.e. source-to-contract activities, spend management, and supplier negotiation).

Responsibilities

Identifying and assessing potential suppliers as well as selecting and engaging with an appropriate supplier who offers the best value to ensure supply continuity following a process to purchase the goods or services.

Typical responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Selecting, managing, and developing suppliers by complying with the overall framework established to optimize value, saving, and efficiency
  • Profiling categories, reviewing spend, summarising initiatives, and collaborating with internal stakeholders from opportunity assessment to implementation of ongoing total cost improvements for medium to large-size sourcing engagements
  • Supporting the sourcing process and purchasing process from identifying the need to signing a contract with the supplier
  • Interacting with key support partners (i.e. Business Owners, Key Stakeholders, Risk Management, Compliance) to ensure all sourcing events executed are in full agreement with corporate policies and procedures
  • Developing supply base management and ensuring aligned goals with internal stakeholders
  • Developing integrated purchasing strategies that support the organization must win battles
  • Negotiating a contract with the supplier and ensuring contractual clauses are agreed upon, audited, and documented
  • Ensuring contract renewal and maintaining supplier relationships

Qualifications

  • Academic degree in engineering or business studies
  • 6+ years of work experience in Purchasing or another position requiring professional coordination and business skills
  • Great interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Positive and solution-oriented problem solver
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment
  • Could have working knowledge of SAP & BI
  • Experience in contract management and negotiation
  • Knowledge in spend analysis (eg. total cost of ownership and clean sheet)
  • Familiar with basic and intermediate Excel functions (e. SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, VLOOKUP, IF statements, and pivot tables)

  • Having limited experience and understanding in the area of work with initiativeness to seek knowledge by exploring and collaborating so as to deliver the tasks
  • Seek counsel on tasks to learn and deliver and apply skills to perform the task that is not very complex but it is the foundation for a better solution
  • Actively working on specific issues with support and directions
  • Applying a methodical approach to understand the problem statement and follow the sequential path to deliver results
  • Ensuring the standard and quality of tasks delivered and clearly explaining the tasks and the solution by documenting
  • Sharing the learnings and taking initiatives towards the goals and plans
  • Planning work in agreement to fulfill the processes and projects and working under a defined direction within a clear framework with responsibility
  • Solving transactional and operational problems by identifying the issues and proposing solutions by exploring, learning, and seeking support and advice with very little precedent
