Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing direct or indirect goods for the company, maintaining adequate inventory, schedule and receive materials shipments. SCS works directly with suppliers or manufacturers to coordinate production schedules, managing the flow of goods and services.
Key responsibilities:
• Purchase materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery target
• Support project and site teams with strategic purchases and sourcing council approvals
• Route purchasing requests to other Purchasing functions, act as purchasing single point of contact
to Site management
• Work closely with internal departments to help achieving the present production plan
• Handle local procurement of materials and services
• Follow up current contracts with suppliers and adjust them to current company standards
• Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
• Have thorough understanding of the local market
• Managing PO backlog and adjusting requested delivery dates in line with demand changes
• Minimize risk by ensuring alternative sources of supply for critical items
• Responsible for answering all the requisitions process and order-related questions
• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems
which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
• In cooperation with strategic purchasing, monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market
suppliers
• Maintain sufficient inventory, scheduling and receiving shipments of raw materials as well as
scheduling manufacturing. Physically receive and organize inventory shipments when required
• Initiate supply orders in the system, confirm delivery with suppliers, monitor and track supplier
performance to purchase order requirement
• Work closely with engineering to maintain detailed bill of materials and routings, with complete part
creation, including revision changes and ensures the facility has the correct information to execute
production operations
• Ensure proper master data in ERP system
• Providing forecast to the suppliers according to demand• Perform other tasks assigned by Manager
We believe that you have:
• Degree in engineering or Business management
• 2 years of experience in purchasing/buyer related position
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical manufacturing field or similar
• Knowledge of Supply Chain processes
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office, relational databases and ERPs
• Fluent English

Northvolt Ett is a next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, the gigafactory will be one of the largest battery cell factory in Europe and produce at least 32 GWh of capacity annually.
Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.
We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
