Customs Classification Specialist

As Customs Classification Specialist you accurately determine HS codes for imported and exported goods, ensure compliance with customs regulations, speed up customs clearance and minimise risks arising from misclassification, duties and trade restrictions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Analyse product specifications and technical documentation to assign correct HS codes in accordance with General Rules of Interpretation, Section/Chapter Notes and Binding Tariff Information (BTI) rulings
• Maintain and update classification databases and records to ensure accuracy and traceability
• Exchange material data with internal teams (procurement, logistics, production) and communicate with authorities when required
• Respond to customs enquiries and classification checks, provide technical justification and consult relevant BTIs
• Monitor changes in customs legislation and inform stakeholders promptly
• Support customs audits and internal reviews of customs declarations

What You Bring

• Degree in International Trade, Business Law, Engineering or comparable qualification
• 1–3 years of professional experience; technical background advantageous
• Sound knowledge of customs regulations and export control policies
• Proficient in classification tools such as TARIC and SAP
• Strong analytical, documentation and organisational skills
• Fluent English; additional EU languages are an advantage
