We now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Undergraduate to join our Research & Development team for an Internship (2024/5) or Masters project in 2025. The internship role will be based in our Glasgow City Centre office with the option of periods between 3 to 12 months.

Our Research and Development teams focus on generator, power converter hardware, software, models and associated components that make the wind turbine electrical drivetrain, taking ideas from research and concept design through prototyping, test and validation, to realization in our wind turbines. Thereafter, we support the manufacturing units, installation and commissioning project teams, and service teams in the application of the product.

The placement can be aligned to contribute to ongoing undergraduate studies where the interests of the candidate and company align.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Research into new and emerging technologies

  • Evaluation of potential technical solutions

  • Development of design solutions

  • Validation of solutions in laboratory/simulation

  • Creation of system models and utilization of them to perform simulations

  • Control system design and implementation

  • Software design, code, and test

What You Need To Make a Difference

We want you to have a passion for renewable energy, and a sense for the importance to lead this change and an ambition to consider this as a future career.

Are you undertaking education to degree level in Engineering or Computer Science, with specialization or interest in any of the following: -

  • Renewable Energy

  • Power Electronics

  • Power Systems

  • Control Engineering

  • Software and modelling

  • Electrical Machine Design

If so, we would be very interested in hearing from you. Some industrial experience would be great; however, this is not an essential requirement as we want those who are willing to learn.
