As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the Product Solutions & Integration (PS&I) organization is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmaps in response to market roadmap requirements, translate product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full Value Chain Integration. Loads & Control (LaC) being part of PS&I, is responsible for designing and optimizing Vestas' products for optimal loads and control strategies together with cross product design work. The department consists of highly skilled, international, and well experienced engineers located across Portugal, Denmark, and India. In this team you will be taking responsibility for developing and effective, robust, and scalable load calculation platform which enables users to efficiently develop and deploy new methods and models but also enables the organization to develop and maintain automated workflows. We have a sophisticated software toolchain that is closely knit with the load and controls process and activities and plays vital role in overall product development as also other value chain activities, as Vestas heavily relies on these to take critical business and product design decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Python or C# while adhering to best practices in code development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Write clear and concise test cases to ensure the reliability and robustness of software applications
  • Utilize Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment processes
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation tasks and system administration
  • Participate in code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary enhancements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is recommended
  • Experience in software development with proficiency in Python or C#
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of at least one database system (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and expertise in implementing database-related tasks
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, is highly desirable
  • Good communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and technologies

Competencies

  • We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our global team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Python or C#, with a experience with delivering high-quality software solutions in an agile environment
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure Services (e.g., Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps)
  • Previous experience in software academics or a specific academic background in computer science or related fields
