Senior Engineer – Grid Code & Interconnection

As the world’s leading wind-turbine manufacturer, Vestas is hiring a Senior Engineer – Grid Code & Interconnection for our U.S. headquarters in Houston.

Responsibilities

• Represent Vestas in IEEE PES, NERC, FERC, ESIG, EPRI and other industry forums
• Contribute to standards for inverter-based resources (IBR)
• Define technical roadmap for ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, ISO-NE
• Coordinate R&D, Product and Compliance teams on grid-code features
• Lead interconnection studies, modelling, testing and documentation
• Interface with utilities, ISOs/RTOs and consultants
• Deliver internal trainings and global knowledge sharing
• Travel up to 20%

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc Electrical Engineering or related
• 10+ years renewable-energy grid integration or power-system studies
• Deep IBR, IEEE & NERC code and interconnection process expertise
• Hands-on with PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, DIgSILENT PowerFactory
• Strong leadership and communication skills
