Smart Meter Engineer (Scotland)

Help drive the global renewable energy revolution as a Smart Meter Engineer in Scotland. Represent Octopus Energy in customers’ homes, installing smart meters, demonstrating in-home displays and explaining how they cut energy use.

What you’ll do

• Install single- and dual-fuel smart meters to industry standards
• Show customers how their meter and IHD work and how to save energy
• Answer questions about green energy and Octopus’ mission

What you’ll need

• MOCoPA certificate within the last 3 years (evidence required)
• Gas Safe: CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence (≤ 6 points)

Package

• £36,500 base salary (£3,042/month gross)
• £2,500 annual performance bonus + fit bonuses
• £25/week lunch allowance

Call-out & overtime
1-in-5 rotating call-out (Mon–Sun) pays £250 retainer; door-to-door paid if called. Saturday premium: £50 attendance + £70 dual / £35 single fuel install. Technical aborts paid at half rate.
