Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer (South West)

Role

Install and commission dual-fuel smart meters throughout Cornwall and the South-West, delivering best-in-class safety and customer experience in customers’ homes.

Key responsibilities

• Fit electricity and gas smart meters and in-home displays
• Explain tariff and energy-saving features to customers
• Complete accurate digital paperwork via Octopus apps
• Represent Octopus Energy values on every visit

Essential qualifications & licences

• MOCoPA certificate (within last 2 years)
• Gas Safe: CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence (max. 6 points)

Package

• £36,500 base salary (£3,042/month gross)
• £2,500 annual performance bonus + fit bonuses
• £25/week lunch allowance
• Company van, fuel, tools, PPE provided

• Paid upskilling into EV chargers & heat-pumps
• £15 extra for every asset beyond sixth daily install

Overtime & call-out

One-in-five weeks on-call (Mon–Sun) £250 retainer; door-to-door pay if called. Saturday work: £50 attendance + £70 dual-fuel / £35 single-fuel install. Technical aborts paid at half rate.
