Job Description

We are recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join the O&M team at our Waste-to-Energy plant in Slough. You will carry out skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on all plant systems to ensure continuous, safe and efficient operation.

• Plan and execute mechanical repairs on conveyors, gearboxes, steam-raising equipment, valves, rotating machinery and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine lubrication, inspection and adjustment of plant equipment.
• Lead risk assessments and contribute to HSE audits, inspections and meetings; report any infractions immediately.
• Supervise and instruct junior team members.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship; HNC/HND preferred.
• Proven maintenance experience in a 24/7 heavy-process environment.
• IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
• Strong fault-finding, planning and leadership skills with a safety-first mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
