HSE (Health Safety & Environment) Coordinator

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated HSE Coordinator to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate HSE team based in Västerås. By joining us, you will be a key player in contributing Northvolt Labs R&D facility. In your role, you will support and oversee the health, safety, and environmental compliance of different departments within our R&D facility.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting management and facilities in HSE related activities and communicating with other departments within the organization to make sure that their needs are being met.
  • Reviewing TIA reports to identify potential hazards and initiating corrective action plans.
  • Investigating accidents and near misses to determine their causes and contributing factors to help prevent similar occurrences in the future.
  • Supports management to ensure employees understand safety procedures and are aware of potential risks in their work environment.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of health and safety training programs in relevant areas.
  • Participate in incident investigations as needed.
  • Take part in the training and other related team training and development activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all health, safety, and environmental activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and risk assessments.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Relevant University grade is a plus but can be replaced by industry experience
  • Knowledge about HSE legislation
  • The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations.

  • Ability to teach others the established safety standards.
  • Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Passion & purpose driven.
  • Relevant University grades are a plus but can be replaced by industry experience

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
