We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Planner to join our Supply Chain team. The Materials Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials through our supply chain, working closely with various departments to maintain optimal inventory levels and support install and production schedules. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain operations.

What you'll do

Proactively monitor and maintain optimised inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels are sufficient to meet production and installation requirements while minimising excess and obsolete inventory.Proactively understand, communicate, and manage risks to minimise their impact on production schedules.Be the main day-to-day point of contact for suppliers on materials forecasts and operational performance.  Ensure timely and accurate order placements, track shipments, and resolve / escalate any supply issues promptly.Work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and finance to gather data and insights for material planning and inventory optimisation.Support supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand formaterials are met, and resolve any supplier concerns, while evaluating supplier performance in conjunction with key stakeholders.Utilise data analysis tools to assess material usage patterns, forecast future material needs, proactively manage risk of stock-outs and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of material plans, purchase orders, inventory levels, and supplier information.

What you'll need

Proven experience in materials  planning, demand forecasting, or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment on direct to consumer goods.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively externally and with cross-functional teams, and demonstrate proficiency in visual and presentation skills.Strong organisational, data analysis and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail to resolve issues and quickly and accurately.Demonstrate tenacity and resilience in driving solutions to completion, proactively addressing supply chain issues and prioritising the customer’s needs and ensuring positive outcomes. Experience with project management and use of MRP software or a Project Management System.Flexible to travel across our UK operation sites.
