Seasonal Field Services Engineer - Generators

Overview

As a Seasonal Generator Field Services Engineer you will supervise maintenance and service work on large generators worldwide. You carry out inspections and electrical & mechanical tests, compile condition reports and act as the main customer contact during plant outages. The seasonal contract covers a minimum of 1,560 working hours per year and provides four flexible months off.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high- and low-voltage testing, visual inspections and develop repair & maintenance recommendations
  • Prepare accurate customer reports on equipment condition and executed work
  • Ensure safe, high-quality work execution according to Siemens processes
  • Work in global power plant outages (2-15 week assignments, up to 12-14 h/day, 6-7 days/week)

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or GED; ongoing or completed degree in mechanical/electrical engineering desirable
  • Minimum 6 months experience in technical field service (technician, maintenance, assembly)
  • Willingness to travel 100%; physical fitness (ladders, lift 40 lbs, confined spaces, weather)
  • Sound knowledge of large electrical machines (generator inspection, testing, winding, repair)
  • U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship required
