How to contribute to our vision

We are looking for a Training and Competency Coordinator to join our team in the Hull, United Kingdom. This role includes working collaboratively with various stakeholders and external training providers.

Reporting to the Training and Competency Manager, working collaboratively with various stakeholders and external training providers this role is responsible for the coordination, execution and delivery of both technical and business learning programmes as detailed in the overall business and site training plan and in line with local, global and legal policies and compliance.

The role also supports our advanced and higher apprenticeship programmes, work experience and various STEM initiatives. .

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Coordinating technical training for all professional and production staff identified through gap and skills analysis and meet legal and legislative requirements for DK and UK

  • Supporting the development of accredited training courses to meet UK industry standards, deliver on boarding inductions, in-house training on an ad-hoc basis

  • Maintaining the records in line with contractual requirements, core competencies matrix to include production, legal and core skills i.e. EHS, Quality, Lean

  • Maintaining paper based and computerised records in line with contractual requirements. Defining requirements through discussions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts

  • Maintaining and execute recertification technical training interventions and ensure correct recording and completion of documentation

  • Maximising value for money of external service providers through cost management and ensuring contracts are optimised and additional costs are avoided pro-actively

  • Managing and maintain documentation required for grant submissions and additional secured funding meeting audit specifications

  • Managing budget allocation for technical training / business learning and provide forecasts and projections within the budget scope

  • Ensuring smooth implementation, coordination and execution of the rotational programme for apprentices, co-ordinate the assessment, development and training

  • Developing key processes relating to competency, provide efficient partnership with local and other training providers/partners

  • To provide and publish, as required, training information and metrics internally and externally. Using SWP training web data, evaluate and analyse information relating to individual and group training profiles and the allocation and achievement of these

  • To provide competency documentation in line with global governance, meeting quality assurance and audit requirements and specifications. Produce and maintain training documentation ensuring version control

  • Ensuring training material/documentation meets ISO9001 standards with regard to quality assurance and SGRE process/document house compliance and publish the training information and metrics internally and externally

  • Evaluating feedback for courses/programmes to improve provision and effectiveness of technical training and associated activities and suggest the training improvements

What You Need to Make a Difference

A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to work in multiple projects being attention to detail

  • Self-motivated to work under pressure with minimal supervision as a part of team and prioritise the workload

  • Critical/analytical thinking and exceptional customer service skills

  • Proficient and confident with Excel

  • Experience with PowerPoint and PowerBI packages

  • Previous experience in a coordinator role within a training environment and delivery of in-house training will be preferred

  • Previous experience with fleet management systems with a broad understanding of legislative training requirements with lifting and moving equipment will be of advantage.
