Large Combustion Turbine Field Service Engineer

Your Day at a Glance

You maintain large turbines, generators and auxiliary systems in the field. The role involves 80%+ travel to international power-plant sites. You lead technicians, supervisors and subcontractors, ensure quality and procedures, coordinate directly with customers, provide mechanical expertise by reading drawings and schematics, and feed status and lessons-learned back to engineering and management. Specialization on specific turbine frames is possible over time.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Lead field service teams during installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of gas turbines, steam turbines and generators at customer sites.
• Plan and manage staffing, coordinate resources and enforce Siemens Energy field-service procedures.
• Provide technical expertise on combustion turbines to internal teams, customers and suppliers for continuous improvement.
• Work with engineering to solve on-site issues and deliver contracts on schedule.
• Prepare detailed reports on equipment condition, repairs and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, quality and company standards for a safe workplace.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related; fluent English.
• 5+ years as mechanical field service engineer with deep knowledge of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and auxiliaries.
• Strong decision-making and leadership, self-driven, risk-aware team player.
• Adaptable, flexible and results-oriented in dynamic environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80%.
