Commissioning Engineer for Communication and Networking in HVDC Systems/Inżynier Sieci (k/m)

A Snapshot of Your Day

In our HVDC Communication Team, we test and verify network infrastructures, communication interfaces, as well as HMI concepts of our innovative HVDC projects in our test center ( about a year in Germany Forchheim). During the commissioning of our HVDC systems worldwide (in person on site and again testified -  site), we ensure the flawless functionality and quality. Our diverse and multinational teams work closely with project management, system, and component engineering to provide custom solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• You are responsible for technically flawless, on-time and economical handling of the commissioning of HVDC systems on our construction sites (worldwide) especially for data networks and individual components of network communication SCADA- Level
• Responsibility for the commissioning, support, and control of the predominantly TCP/IP based network infrastructure, HMI concept, and their purpose-specific adaptation
• Responsibility for time synchronization as well as the local and remote signal converter and thus interface to all other involved signal suppliers
• Support for other commissioning components as well as customers and external partners in troubleshooting and testing communication interfaces · Support for IBS management in quality, risk, and claim management
• Participation in improvement programs (including Lean, reviews, and lessons learned)

What You Bring

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology or comparable education / qualification
• Experience in network administration (switches, routers, etc.), basic HMI, and PC administration (hardware and virtualization)
• Basic knowledge of network protocols (including TCP/IP, RADIUS) as well as network security and monitoring
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and precisely
• Fluent English language skills (German will be an advantage) 
• Class B driving license for Germany
• Handling of circuit diagrams and electrical systems / measuring instruments
• Preferable Skilled electrician
• Willingness for worldwide business trips and long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad, as well as optional assignments on offshore platforms (> 6 Month)
• Team player, communicative, proactive, positive handling of conflicts, decision-making capability

About the TeamProject Entity is responsible for the high-quality implementation of comprehensive Siemens Energy projects around the world. The scope of its engineering activities includes, among others, turnkey projects (EPC, Engineering, Procurement and Construction), implementations based on HVAC and HVDC (High Voltage Alternate/Direct Current) technologies, and projects based on gas turbines, steam turbines, hydrogen solutions or systems combining the above into hybrid systems.

In addition, Project Entity supplies solutions in the area of transmission grid stabilization systems, energy storage, switchgear and high-voltage transformers, as well as systems for digitizing the above areas.
