Chief Financial Officer – Octopus Energy Services (Low-Carbon Technology Roll-out)

Octopus Energy Services (OES) is the UK’s fastest-growing installer of low-carbon home technologies (heat pumps, solar, batteries, EV chargers). We are looking for an experienced, energetic CFO to lead all finance functions and partner with the CEO to scale our impact as we decarbonise millions of homes.

Role scope

Reporting to the OES CEO and working closely with Octopus Energy Group’s Co-Founder & Group CFO, you will:

• Own financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting and KPI management across four divisions: Financial Management & Accounting, Financial Operations, Financial Risk, and Pricing.
• Protect unit economics and cash flow while we scale volumes rapidly; manage working-capital, pricing and margin improvement initiatives.
• Ensure robust governance, compliance and reporting; act as key contact for auditors, regulators and the Group.
• Build and coach a high-performing, embedded finance team; foster data-driven decision-making between finance, operations and technology.
• Join the OES executive team and help shape culture, strategy and long-term growth.

What you’ll bring

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with senior leadership experience in complex, high-growth, operationally intensive businesses.
• Track record of influencing at executive level, delivering margin improvement and managing rapid scaling.
• Comfortable switching between board-level strategy and operational detail; willing to challenge conventional thinking.
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainability; enthusiasm for building organisations that do good while doing well.
