Senior Software Engineer – Datacenter Automation

The Role
You will own the full lifecycle of Zipline’s datacenters: from bare-metal provisioning and hypervisor management to Kubernetes clusters and infrastructure-as-code. You ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency while collaborating with engineering teams on automation, monitoring, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate compute, storage, network, and Kubernetes environments
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management (bare metal & virtualization)
• Scale hypervisors, storage clusters, and containerized workloads
• Create workflows, dashboards, and tools to streamline datacenter operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, virtualization, and orchestration issues

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development in engineering-led organizations
• Hands-on datacenter experience: rack & stack, networking, bare metal, hypervisors, storage, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code
• Generalist mindset: broad knowledge, high curiosity
• Passion for reliable systems and cross-team collaboration
• Ability to define, document, and enforce infrastructure best practices

Location & Compensation
