Accountant – FTC

We are looking for an Accountant to deliver a slick and efficient Financial Control service for our electric-vehicle leasing business on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You will own daily accounting, month-end reconciliations and variance analysis for Octopus EV, partnering with funders, Operations and commercial teams to resolve issues and tighten controls. As we scale you will spot automation opportunities, redesign processes and ensure every ledger is audit-ready.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and post monthly balance-sheet reconciliations; investigate and clear variances.
• Own month-end journals, accruals and flux analysis for EV leasing.
• Track vehicle purchases weekly and report KPIs to stakeholders.
• Manage creditors & debtors; answer payment and receipt queries promptly.
• Work with Finance Operations to fix reconciliation breaks at source.
• Support external audit and tax queries.
• Design and roll out process improvements that scale with transaction growth.

What you’ll need

• 3+ years’ finance experience in a high-volume environment.
• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
• Advanced Excel; comfortable manipulating large data sets.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software; NetSuite a plus.
• Meticulous attention to detail and proactive, ownership mindset.
• Clear communicator who thrives in a fast-changing scale-up.

Financial-services or leasing experience is helpful but not essential.
