Head of Heat Operations - Heat Pump Department Lead (m/w/d)

As Head of Heat Operations in our Renewable Energy division, you are the architect and operational leader of our fastest-growing department. Your mission: industrial-scale rollout of heat-pump installations in multi-family buildings. Together with your team you guarantee a seamless customer journey.

Since installations are carried out mainly by a network of subcontractors, your focus is on managing these partners. You build structures in which digital data capture and app-based field-service processes become a highly efficient reality and external trades meet our quality standards as if they were our own.

Your responsibilities:

• Department build-up & leadership: Develop and lead your internal team of regional managers, HVAC technicians, project managers and on-site surveyors; structure daily workflows, set priorities and hit departmental targets.
• Network management & scaling: Expand our subcontractor network, define selection criteria, negotiate framework agreements and establish long-term partnerships to secure installation capacity.
• Process design: Analyse internal workflows, drive continuous improvement and ensure seamless integration of external partners into our digital field-service processes.
• Performance ownership & controlling: Monitor project pipeline and partner performance; report on budget, schedule adherence and quality directly to the management board.
• Quality benchmark: Set technical standards for system design and commissioning that are binding for every external partner.

Your profile:

• Degree in energy/renewables engineering or equivalent qualification with solid heat-pump expertise.
• ≥5 years professional experience, incl. 3–4 years as team lead; passion for developing young teams.
• Proven record of managing subcontractors on large-scale projects.
• Confident user of field-service apps and digital workflows to control external partners.
• Data-driven decision making and process standardisation for economic scale-up.
• Strong negotiation skills with specialist contractors to create win-win partnerships.
