Strategic Operations Intern – Data & Tooling (Summer 2026)

Your Role
As a Strategic Operations Intern – Data & Tooling you will own the technical infrastructure that scales our drone network. You will build data models, automate workflows and create lightweight internal tools that give teams clarity and faster decision-making power.

Responsibilities

• Refine and document core data models for forecasting, performance measurement and site-level decisions
• Develop internal tools & scripts (Python, SQL, web dashboards) to automate manual processes
• Partner with the Data Platform team to productionize new pipelines and ensure data quality
• Gather operational requirements together with Business Operations, Maintenance and Site Ops
• Prototype and test new tooling solutions, from simplified UIs to backend automation
• Create dashboards (Mode, ThoughtSpot, Looker) that improve visibility into fleet performance and scaling bottlenecks

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related fields
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python
• Exposure to data modeling, ETL or analytics engineering concepts
• Ability to translate operational pain points into clean technical solutions
• Passion for automation over manual work
• Team player in an agile, cross-functional environment

Bonus: Experience with Snowflake, dbt or web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, React); prior exposure to logistics or robotics environments.

Location & Schedule
Full-time, on-site internship in San Francisco or Dallas. Summer 2026: May/June to August. Starting cash range: $32–36/h.
