Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Development Project Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. As a Development Project Manager (DPM) you are planning and steering the development project as part of a customer project. The development project spans several years from start, to A- and B-Sample phase until C-Sample and PPAP.

You will be part of cell development organization and ensure that milestones and deliverables in R&D are achieved. The DPM role is working closely with the cell design, material development and process engineering and connects R&D to other functions like purchasing, industrialization and quality. You will work in our R&D campus in Västerås where we have all relevant cell development capabilities from material and electrode Labs, to prototype and pilot production lines and Test Labs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Development project planning and steering - Ensure that the development timeline is aligned with the customer project timeline and relevant functions (e.g. purchasing, industrialization and validation) - Regularly review the timeline with the development project team, track progress and resolve timeline conflicts - Escalate to R&D management in case milestones are at risk or can not be met

  • Prototype planning and steering - Ensure that all prototype demands are considered and drive cross-functional evaluation and prioritization - Coordinate that production documentation is released in time - Align prototype plan with production and testing team and clarify open questions

  • Documentation - Plan and track relevant documentation (e.g. BOM, DFMEA) - Plan and coordinate hand-over of development documentation to mass production plant

  • Design Freeze - Plan and steer cross-functional design freeze reviews in the project - Drive design freeze activities towards production start

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • A degree in engineering, chemistry or other relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in automotive/ electronics/ battery industry
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in working in R&D

Bonus points for:

  • Project management certification
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
