HVDC Switchyard Commissioning Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Day-to-Day
In our HVDC Systems team we test and verify hardware and software for our innovative high-voltage direct-current transmission projects in our Test Center and ensure reliable function and quality of our HVDC plants worldwide during on-site commissioning. Our diverse multinational teams cooperate closely with project management, engineering and end customers to deliver customized solutions based on the latest HVDC technology.
How you drive the energy transition

• Bring our HVDC projects to successful completion at customer sites
• Execute hardware and software tests including customer acceptance at the Test Center and on construction sites worldwide
• Configure, test and commission switchyard control for HVDC systems
• Investigate faults and support Software Engineering in debugging
• Support Commissioning Management in quality, risk and claim management as well as improvement programs

What you bring

• Degree in electrical/energy engineering, certified technician or comparable qualification
• Proven experience in commissioning bay control units, ideally SIPROTEC 5 with DIGSI 5, and related high-voltage switchyard components
• Solid understanding of high-voltage and outdoor switchgear technology, testing of interlocking and automation logic
• Fluent English; German is a plus
• Willingness for worldwide travel and long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad, optional offshore platform assignments
• Team player with strong communication skills, initiative, constructive conflict handling and decision-making ability
