Project Engineer for HVAC & Cooling Systems

A snapshot of your day: You begin by reviewing customer specifications for a newly tendered STATCOM project, directly integrate these into your design documents and coordinate the required dimensions with the layout planner. In the afternoon you clarify technical details with potential suppliers based on your own specification, answer site managers’ questions and present an improvement you identified to the customer including its impact on schedule.

Your responsibilities:

• Technical design, procurement and project management of HVAC (heating, air conditioning, ventilation) and cooling systems (pumps, motors, piping, valves, recoolers, control technology) for power-transmission plants considering customer specs and local codes
• Cost calculation for HVAC/cooling design and implementation services
• Drafting of technical inquiries (specifications, functional descriptions), evaluation and award of supplier bids
• Technical negotiations with customers and suppliers, participation in contract awarding talks
• Coordination & interface alignment with other disciplines, technical controlling of supplier performance
• First point of contact for on-site colleagues during installation and commissioning, occasional site presence

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, process, mechatronics, or environmental engineering plus several years’ experience in planning and realization of HVAC and/or cooling systems
• Solid project-management skills and familiarity with standards/norms
• Business-fluent English and willingness to travel internationally
• Analytical communication skills, team spirit, learning mindset, initiative and results orientation
