About the job

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Customer Resident Engineer to join our Compliance team, based in Skellefteå, while being located in Regensburg or Ingolstadt, Germany. Reporting to the Warranty Manager, you'll be the primary technical liaison between Northvolt (especially Skellefteå) and our customers, overseeing and analyzing customer complaints. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping our approach to field failures and complaints, making a significant impact on our sustainable future.

In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring and elevating product quality, attending to customer needs, and providing unwavering support to our diverse automotive projects. You'll take the lead in managing customer inquiries and overseeing the intricate customer complaint process, all while collaborating with international production facilities. Your talent for meticulous problem-solving, persuasive communication, and sharp analytical thinking will be instrumental in shaping our quality management practices and making a substantial impact on the success of our automotive projects. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the key technical liaison between Northvolt and the customer, taking ownership of quality management in series projects and addressing quality-related inquiries.
  • Efficiently identify, analyse, and resolve technical issues or customer complaints, coordinating corrective actions, rework, and sorting activities for timely and effective solutions.
  • Gather, relay, and analyse customer feedback to drive product improvements, innovations, and enhancements, while also recording and analysing quality-related costs for process improvement.
  • Providing problem-solving support to production facilities, including international locations.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve product quality and enhance the customer experience.
  • Analyse customer data, feedback, and complaints to identify trends and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement quality improvement plans and programs based on customer feedback, ensuring customer needs are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare technical reports, performance metrics, and presentations to update both the customer and the manufacturer on the status of ongoing projects and technical issues.
  • The position entails a permanent presence at our customer's facilities, with regular visits to the manufacturing site in Skelleftea and other production facilities, which may necessitate extended stays and participation in field testing and validation activities.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • A relevant academic degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Quality Management Experience: Extensive experience in quality management, particularly in field failure analysis within manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Standards Knowledge: Strong knowledge of quality processes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent English and German written and oral skills
  • Problem-Solving Proficiency: Excellent problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to resolving quality issues.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication (Walks the talk) and interpersonal skills to convey quality standards and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis to identify trends, track key quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Quality Compliance: Experience in ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations, including developing and implementing quality management systems
  • Proactive Attitude: A proactive approach to identify quality gaps and initiate corrective actions.
  • Collaborative Approach: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality improvement plans.

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
