Senior Engineer for Rotating Machines

Your Day at a Glance

Siemens Gamesa’s Generator Technology unit pioneers Direct-Drive generators with outer rotors and permanent magnets. Based in Shanghai, you will support the global team in supplier selection, quality assurance and industrialisation. You act as the technical interface to Chinese suppliers, optimise designs for local production and supervise tests at our Nantong facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical evaluations of direct and sub-suppliers
• Implement engineering solutions on-site at supplier premises
• Drive component- and system-level design and production improvements
• Select electrical components, materials, parts and semi-finished products
• Plan and execute test assemblies at part and sub-part level
• Analyse localisation requirements and adapt products accordingly
• Ensure suppliers comply with SGRE engineering standards
• Coordinate supplier quality assurance with local SQE teams
• Willingness to travel within China

What You Bring

• Min. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, ≥ 10 years of experience in electrical machines, drive trains or wind industry
• Demonstrated manufacturing background and practical workshop skills
• Deep expertise in wind-turbine electrical drive trains
• Experience in testing and validation of electrical components and insulation systems
• Proficient use of measurement equipment for test & qualification
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills
• Fluent English and Chinese (spoken & written)
