Business Development Manager

About the role

We are expanding our Octopus Electroverse for Business team and need a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive the adoption of electric-vehicle charging solutions across UK fleets.

You will be the face of Octopus Electroverse for Business, guiding companies through every step of switching to a sustainable electric fleet. A genuine passion for customer experience and decarbonisation is essential.

The role is based in our London office with hybrid working and includes an uncapped commission scheme.

What you’ll do

• Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to closed deals, exceeding revenue targets.
• Self-source prospects and convert warm leads from across the Octopus group.
• Maintain accurate pipeline data in our CRM.
• Deliver best-in-class customer service during and after the sale.
• Host webinars and live events to promote EV charging and fleet electrification.
• Share market feedback to refine B2B propositions and marketing collateral.
• Build strong internal and external relationships to grow long-term partnership value.

What you’ll need

• Proven success in B2B consultative sales (fleet, fuel-card or EV-charging experience highly desirable).
• Real enthusiasm for electric vehicles, energy and decarbonisation.
• Excellent listening, negotiation and closing skills.
• A customer-first mindset with a track record of delighting clients.
• Completer-finisher mentality: you understand processes end-to-end and relentlessly drive deals over the line.
• Entrepreneurial, adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced scale-up culture.
